Becoming a single mum at 16, thoughts about starting a career went on hold and my life became about bringing up my children and giving them the best start possible.

I always had a ‘show home’ looking home, nice interior decoration and everything had it’s place. Friends and family would always ask for interior advice. I loved interiors and I was good at them.

When the kids grew older I completed a counselling and psychotherapy degree which I imagined would become my career, I wanted to work with individuals with drug and alcohol addiction, but my passion for interiors still lingered in the back of my mind and I couldn’t shift it. I once heard a saying ‘ if you keep dreaming it then it’s what you were meant to be’ and I believe that to be true.

After a discussion with my husband, and some positive pushing from his side, I made the decision to train as an interior designer, so I researched the best training facilities. I was so excited, I felt like I was finally on track to fulfil my dream… but life doesn’t always play along.

Before I could sign up to my course, my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, he was given less than a year to live, so life did change, but not in the way that we had planned. Luke died 8 months later and it turned my world upside down. I could barely think about making it through a day, never mind thinking about my future and I wanted to curl up in a ball until the pain had stopped.

Thirteen months later, I started to live back in the real world, and accept my life without Luke, and I swear he kept yelling interiors at me, because I woke up and went to sleep thinking of them, So, I finally signed up at the NDA, and became a professional interior designer.

I founded Home Interiors By Jayne in 2022, a proud and emotional moment. I did get asked about property staging but really wanted to establish my new interior design business and put all my effort into making that work. I thought that eventually I could add property staging to my home Interiors brand, but the more I learned about property staging, it soon became apparent that it was a totally different expertise and deserved to be a business in its own right.

So here we are in August 2024 and Property Staging By Jayne has been born. I am beyond excited, and when I look back at that time of believing things were over for me, I can hardly believe where I am today. Did I have some help from above, I think so!

A family run business providing property staging and furniture packages all over Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire and where, you the client really does come first. I am so proud of this business, not only do I get to help clients like you but I also get to see my family exceed in what they do.
